At our barnyard birthday party we had pony rides for the kids.
The decorations were all made by me! All kinds of bandannas everywhere! Everyone got a bandanna and a hat when they came in and almost everyone was dressed for the occasion (overalls, straw hats, checkered shirts and jeans, etc.).
The linens were bandannas sewn together. The centerpieces were real corn in aluminum buckets (it really added to the decoration!).
I went to the nearest farm and they sold me the hay which I used to decorate and also used as tables for the kids (I covered the top of the hay with linen!).
I picked out all of Alex's favorite farm songs and burned a CD for each kid to take home. I also printed out a special design on each CD which said "Happy 2nd Birthday Ramiro Alejandro!" and at the bottom a list of all the names of the songs.
We used lots of balloons to decorate, as you see in the next picture a large string of red balloons hung from above. We had sacs races in which the parents participated as well.
There was a nice barnyard cake with a big red barn and all kinds of happy animals, hay stacks, green frosting as grass, cool HAPPY BIRTHDAY candles, and the letters "ALEX" written on the side.
