In January of 2004 we decided to hold a birthday cake contest. The number of people who entered the contest was astounding! We thought it was the great prize offered, but no. Submissions kept pouring in even after the contest was over.

That's when we understood that people love sharing their cakes!

By summer of 2004, we already had around 200 cakes featured on this site and the birthday cake section was getting much bigger than we ever planned for it to be.

So we took all the cakes from here, and built www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com. Over the years THOUSANDS of cakes have been added to the site and today it is considered to be the Web's largest homemade birthday cake gallery.
