Barnyard Party Activity and Decoration

by Lili T.
(Hollow Rock, TN)

For an icebreaker activity the kids love to draw, paint, color, etc. Set out a table with lots of colors and paints and let the kids draw their own barnyard scene. You can also give them coloring pages to color in. After the kids are done painting, take each of their drawings and with a clothe-pin attach them to twine string (have the twine string hung tight from two sides of the party area - just like a clothe-hanging string).

This garland will really add to the party's decorations and the kids will love to see their drawings hung up for display.

Barnyard Party Food Ideas

by Sara C.
(Liverpool, NY)

It's always fun to make food that fits for a specific theme party. I love to put little signs by each dish so that everyone knows the Barnyard-theme related name.

Here are a few barnyard food ideas:

* "Farmer's Market Platter" - a fruit and veggie platter.

* "Hay Piles" - macaroni and cheese (or thin french fries).

* "Pig Tail Pasta Salad" - a salad made with the spiral pasta.

* "Chicken Littles" - chicken nuggets.

* "Cow's Cud" - spinach dip.

* "Oink Oink" - baked ham.

* "Gobble Gobble" - turkey links.

* "Cluck Cluck" - fried chicken.
