Pin the Parrot on the Pirate Game

Pin the Parrot on the Pirate Game

Fun game with the same rules as Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Draw a pirate on posterboard and make parrots out of construction paper. A bandana for a blindfold and have each child try to pin the parrot on the shoulder of the pirate. Fun game, the kids loved it!

Pirate Birthday Party Costume Idea

by Jennifer
(Gainesville, FL)

Each child upon arrival received a paper bag with a pirate vest - made of black felt, cut like a bib, and patches hot glued on, with a red sash... an eyepatch, telescope and clip-on earring.

The kids LOVED dressing up for the party!

Surprise Pirate Party Idea

by Maggie
(Kennybunk Port, Maine, U.S.)

You can have a surprise pirate party for your girl/boy. It's best if you organize it on a day where a few of your kid's friends are anyways planning to hang out together (the kids that come hang out with your child will know about the surprise party but will keep it a secret).

Hide some sort of treasure map (one that looks old and authentic) and then one of your child's friend's can play out as if they just found this treasure map... and then your child's friends can play out as if they are excited about it and what treasure they might find..

Then they can all go out for a treasure hunt (you'll need to have this organized beforehand). Hide all kinds of messages in all kinds of places (example: a message in a bottle). Each message will have a clue to the next message. The last message will lead to the surprise pirate party (like at a park, at a friend's house, at any other party place, etc.). And then when your kid arrives, lots of people will be waiting for him/her and they all yell "SURPRISE"!

Pirate Bouncy Castles

Bouncy Pirate Castle

Bouncy Pirate Castle

I threw a pirate themed birthday party and at the last minute I secured a pirate themed bouncy castle and surprised the birthday boy.... It was a major hit and definitely worth the extra £40-50... If you do a local search in Google then there should be many castles available in this theme :) (Always fun for the adults too!!)

Scroll Invitations for a Pirate Party

by Veronica
(Charlotte)

For the Pirate Party scroll invitations we drew out a map to our house from the school with of course the X marking the spot of our home. I went to a website that turns each child's name into a piarte name so they were addeseed to the pirate name with the real name in parathesis.

The inviations were printed on cream paper and then we burned all of the edges. It was then rolled up and tied with rafetta and had a key attached. The child was instructed to bring the key to open their own private chest. We had a few extra keys on hand in case anyone forgot the key.

At the party each child recieved a map that had their own treasure at the end. Each treasure map led them to a small chest that the key would open and was filled with chocolate coins. This was just one part of the party but was a huge hit

Pirate Party Bathroom Sign Idea

by Steph F.
(Clarksville, TN)

I made a pirate's sign for the bathroom :-). I took brown paper and with a thick marker wrote "Little Pirates Room". I put a skull and cross bones design on the top, burned the edges, laminated it, and taped it to the bathroom door. It was a hit!
