Princess And The Pea Game

by Elaine
(Manitoba, Canada)

You need toss cushions and a "pea" (a golf ball or other small ball works).

Line the pillows up in a row and hide the 'pea' under one pillow. One at a time the princesses take turns sitting on the pillows trying to figure out which pillow the pea is under. Then it's their turn to hide the pea.

This is a great game for preschoolers or if you want a game that has no winners/losers. I found it was a great time consumer too. For older kids you can use a small marble or anything of the sort.

Cloud Cotton Ball Princess Game

by Deonna

You will need 2 medium sized bowls, a blindfold, a spoon, cotton balls, a piece of paper and a pen or pencil.

Getting ready: You need to fill one of the bowls with the cotton balls. Then space the 2 bowls on a table. Blindfold the first player and put them in front of the filled bowl. Give them the spoon.
While blindfolded, they have one minute to spoon out as many cotton balls as they can and put in the empty bowl.

Rules to keep in mind:

1) You can't scrap the sides of the bowl with the spoon.
2) The cotton balls that land on the table don't count.

Remember to count the cotton balls each player managed to put in the empty bowl. On a piece of paper, write each player's name and the amount of cotton balls they got. The player with the most cotton balls is the winner!

Kiss the Prince Frog Princess Party Game

by Momof4
(UT)

We played a 'pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey' game but instead I made a large green prince frog out of a poster board, and cut out giant red lips - one for each person. Blindfolded and spinned each person around, the one who got closest to his mouth wins.

Magic Carpets Game

by Elaine
(Manitoba, Canada)

Magic Carpets - A Game Of Cooperation And Giggles!

Tell the girls they are princesses heading off for a magic carpet ride around the country side but someone keeps stealing the magic carpets.

The game is played simular to musical chairs only using pillows/carpets samples. Size them according to the number of kids you have, make it a challenge but not impossible. Start with one less "magic carpet" then you have kids, when the music stops every child needs to get completely on a carpet (no feet on the floor), the odd one out has to share with someone. Start the music again, this time you'll either have two people sharing carpets or one carpet with three kids. Continue this way until there is only one "carpet" left, now ALL the kids need to get at least one foot on the only "carpet" and remove the other foot from the floor. They need to help one another to see if they will all be able to fly away on the lone carpet.

Eventually they just end up in a mass of giggles on the floor.

This game is easily modified to other themes - For Mermaids tell the kids they are swimming and when the parent yells "shark" they have to climb on the "back of a turtle/a rock"... you need to share, because you don't want your fellow mermaids to be eaten by a shark.

For Pirates/cast aways - call it rocks or rowboats.

For Cowboys - bandits are chasing you the pillows are horses.
etc.

Coins in the Wishing Well Princess Activity

by Melissa
(Oklahoma City)

This is a game just like a bean bag toss.

I've made little bean bags in gold and silver fabric (these would be the coins). I decorated a 10 gallon bucket (to resemble the well). I wrapped gray paper around it and drew bricks on it.

This game accomodates lots of kids and adults too. The more people, the more bean bags you should make. Try tossing the bags from different distances.

With little girls, if they make it in the "well" tell them to make a wish!
Everyone should get a prize for being a good sport!

Sleeping Beauty Princess Game

by Azia (asia)
(Dallas, Desoto, TX)

All the players make 2 lines one of princes and the other of princesses (if there aren't any princes than divide the princesses equally).

One team is the guessing team and the other the princesses. All of the princesses lie on the floor as if they are sleeping. An adult then whispers in all of the princesses' ears "sleeper" or "awake" (only one can be the "sleeper"). The sleeper can not tell anyone he is the sleeper or leave the line.

All the guessers cover their ears except the first guesser. The first guesser guesses who they think is "sleeping beauty". You keep going until someone gets it right. If someone says the same thing as another person its okay. Keep playing until everyone has had a turn.

Jewelry Finder Princess Game

by Tiffany
(Massqupequa, New York, USA)

Take a wide tub and fill it with a lot of fake jewelry. Then there are two teams each player is going to have a turn to play. One person from each team is going to sit on their knees by the tub, then have a person list all the descriptions of the jewelry, the person who lists the jewelry is going to tell the two players what specific jewelry to look for. The player that finds that specific jewelry first, his or her team gets a point. When the two players are finished the next two players go and when all the players have had a turn, the game is over. The team with the most points wins the game.

Jewels On The Crown Game

by Teresa
(Calgary, AB, Canada)

Out of gold or silver paper, cut out a crown shape and tape it to the wall. Have the children line up and take turns trying to stick a jewel (dollar store or scrapbooking sticky jewels) to the crown (blindfolded). The one who gets the jewel closest to the top of the crown wins. You can play over again until the crown is fully decorated.

After all turns are finished, take the crown off the wall and using another piece of gold or silver paper and staple it across the back of the crown; turn the picture of the crown into a real crown.
During birthday present time, each child gets a chance to wear the crown as they are giving the birthday girl their gift.

Pin The Crown On The Princess

by Nicole
(Rossville, Georgia)

This is my version of pin the tail on the donkey.
For my daughter's third birthday I got a poster board and drew a picture of Ariel and colored it in with pencils. I then cut out on white paper some flat crown shapes that would fit Ariel's head. When the kids showed up I had them pick out the crown shape they preferred, write their name on it and decorate it. They used markers, crayons, pencils, glitter, and stickers.
We then had a most original crown contest before blindfolding the girls and having them try to crown the princess. We stuck double sided tape on the back of the crowns to make it easy. Winner was closest.
