Create A Super Hero Icebreaker Activity

by Anonymous

Issue each child with a piece of A4 paper and pencil. Each child takes his/her paper and out of view of the others, draws the head and neck of an imaginary super hero. He/She then carefully folds the paper over twice, just so the head is hidden from view but let just the neck to be shown. The papers are then passed around clockwise so each child now has a different paper. He/she then draws the body and arms and again folds the paper but just so the bottom of the body is showing. The papers are passed round again and the last person draws the legs and feet plus adds the name of one of the guests to the bottom of the picture. The papers are folded for the last time and passed around once more. The guests then take it in turns to open up their paper and to reveal who is the Super Hero and what he looks like. This always causes a lot of laughs and is a popular game so have lots of paper ready!!

Superhero Costume Accessories

I bought bulk felt from the fabric store and used one of my children's capes as an outline and cut it out. I didn't need to sow anything just velcro (to attach around the neck). I used red and blue for the capes. On the capes we added each kid's name with the opposite color (red on blue or blue on red).

I made masks from black felt (although you can use red and/or blue, or any other color that fits your theme).

As props I'm planning to take paper towel rolls, paint them gray, attach two black balloons to both sides (using a rubberband holding them from inside of the paper towel). These are barbells the superheros can show off with!

Have Fun!
