An excellent Noah's Ark first birthday party idea for an invitation is the elephant invitation where the trunk is folded like an accordion over the party details. Take gray or brown paper and cut out the shape of an elephant's head and trunk. Then draw eyes (or glue on wiggly eyes) and tusks and fill in all the party information (also asking the kids to come with a stuffed animal).
You can ask that the kids dress up as any animal. Write all the needed information on the trunk, then fold it up accordion style and also fold up the ears. You can write something like: "Join us on the Ark as we celebrate (baby's name) 1st birthday!". To make it cute, write some letters so that they're flipped and look as if a small child wrote them. A cool Noah's Ark first birthday party idea is to ask every guest to bring a stuffed animal to be part of Noah's Ark.

A good first birthday party idea is to provide stuffed animals and toys to play with (if toddlers will also be coming). Disperse the stuffed animals you have all around the party area. Hang animal print balloons, or just colorful balloons and streamers everywhere.
This Animal print gossamer is excellent to set the scene - you can drape furniture with it, hang it on the walls and cover the party table.
Use chalk to draw big animal footprints on your driveway and leading to your front door. Inside you can put construction paper animal prints that can guide the guests to the party area.
A fun Noah's Ark first birthday party idea is to create animal ears fastened to a headband for everyone to wear.
Top Tip! Before you buy anything online, make sure to check out the Noah's Ark supplies being offered on eBay. Often, you'll find new supplies at a fraction of what they cost at the stores:

If there'll be young kids joining the party, it's important they have several activities to take part in as they arrive.
Here's an excellent Noah's Ark first birthday party idea. Cut animal shapes out of ordinary kitchen cleaning sponges (older kids will enjoy cutting out their own sponges). You can do this by tracing animal patterns on the sponge prior to cutting them out. For younger kids, parents will want to already have them cut out and just let the kids stamp them into washable paint to create pictures or they can take the sponges home as a favor and fun bath toy.
(For the older kids if any are coming…) To get everyone into the animal mood, a cool Noah's Ark first birthday party idea is to make animal masks from paper plates. Supply them with big white paper plates, glue or tape, scissors, felt pieces, buttons, sequins, markers or crayons, etc. (If you want, you can cut eyes and a hole for the nose beforehand in all of the plates, tie a string to both ends so that they can put them on their face, and then let them decorate.)

Here's a fun Noah's Ark first birthday party idea for a cake. Prepare and bake a cake from a packaged cake mix just as the directions instruct on the package (in a round cake pan). Then cut the cake in half after the cake has cooled off and frost one side of one of the halves. Then place one layer on top of the other on the cake board. You will now have two halves of a cake on top of each other (with frosting between them to hold them together).
Trim the rounded side so that you have a flat base to stand the "boat" on. Gently tip the cake so that the trimmed edge is placed on the cake board and then frost the entire cake with the chocolate frosting. Next, cut a pound cake in half and using only one of the halves, trim the top, to create a roof-like appearance. Frost the "hut" and add it to the top of the ark. As a finish, place animals around the ark in pairs (could be animal shaped cookies, animal crackers, or just clean plastic animals). Remember to put the animals in pairs!!
Tip: Make frozen ice cubes with raisins in them so it looks like flies are floating in their animal juices (the older kids just love this!)
Here's the best place to get a whole bunch of miniature animals and animal trinkets.
